Mi6 Leader's Son Arrested For Heroin Import in '73

The son of Sir Maurice Oldfield, the head of MI6 at the time, was detained in 1973 for his role in bringing huge amounts of heroin into the country from Hong Kong. This was a severe setback for the British intelligence service, which was already under criticism for its role in the Chilean government's overthrow in 1971. Mark Oldfield, the son of Oldfield, received a nine-year prison term but was released after just three.
