Bruce Lee was a national dance champion, having won the Hong Kong Cha Cha Championship in 1958. He was also an accomplished martial artist and actor. Bruce Lee was born on November 27, 1940, in San Francisco, California, to Chinese parents.
Lee Hoi-chuen, his father, was a Cantonese opera singer, and Grace Ho, his mother, was a Chinese-American. Bruce was the fourth kid in a family of five. When Bruce was three months old, his family relocated to Hong Kong.
Bruce began his martial arts training when he was six years old. His father taught him the wing chun style first. He also studied other martial arts techniques, including as western boxing, fencing, and his own jeet kune do.
