Donnie Yen is an internationally renowned martial artist, actor, and director. He is most recognised for his roles in the Ip Man and Star Wars: Rogue One movie. He is an accomplished martial artist with a black belt in Taekwondo.

Yen was born in the Chinese city of Guangzhou in 1963. His family relocated to Hong Kong when he was two years old. Yen began martial arts training at the age of seven.

He began with Taekwondo and went on to study Karate, Judo, Wing Chun, and Hapkido. He began teaching martial arts at the age of eighteen.Yen travelled to Boston, Massachusetts, to pursue acting in 1982.
