The fastest internet upload and download speeds are found in Hong Kong, where they are 56.78 mbps and 68.27 mbps, respectively.
For both indices, this is 48.76 mbps quicker than the G8 average. Hong Kong's vast fibre optic network, which was first put in place in the early 2000s, is partly responsible for the city's high-speed internet.
A strong demand for high-speed internet is also caused by the city's dense population, which has sparked competition among providers and led to cheaper rates.
