Hong Kong's 2,354 Skyscrapers: Topping NY & Tokyo's Heights

Hong Kong has more buildings taller than 100 metres than any other city in the world. There are just 794 in New York, 556 in Tokyo, and 238 in Singapore. Hong Kong's skyline is extremely unique, owing to the city's long history.

Hong Kong was a British colony for about 150 years, and the city saw significant transformations throughout that time. British architects and engineers arrived in Hong Kong and constructed some of the city's earliest buildings. The most well-known of these is the Bank of China Tower, which was finished in 1989 and stands 1,209 feet (369 metres) tall.

Hong Kong is now one of the world's most densely inhabited cities, and its skyline reflects this. The International Commerce Centre (1,588 feet/484 metres) and the Two International Finance Centre (1,362 feet/415 metres) are among the world's highest structures. Hong Kong's skyline is undoubtedly breathtaking, and it bears witness to the city's rich history and lively present.
