Hong Kong Zoo: Oldest Park

The Hong Kong Zoo is considered to be one of the world's oldest zoological and botanical parks. The zoo was established in 1871, and today it is home to more than 1,000 animals that collectively represent over 200 different species. The bamboo forest and the lotus pond at the zoo are only two examples of the wide range of plant life that can be found here.

The zoo has a long history of conservation efforts, and it has participated in several breeding programs for endangered species over the years. Over the past few years, the zoo has been hard at work expanding its educational programming and enhancing the quality of its existing facilities. The zoo is a well-known destination for vacationers and serves as an excellent instructional resource regarding the natural world.
