"Reservoir Dogs" Copied from '87 Hong Kong Movie "City On Fire"

In all honesty, the movie Reservoir Dogs is a rip-off of the Hong Kong film City On Fire, which was released in 1987. Ringo Lam was the director of the film, while Chow Yun-fat was one of the stars. It is widely regarded as one of the very best films to ever come out of Hong Kong, where it had enormous levels of commercial and critical success.

The director of Reservoir Dogs, Quentin Tarantino, has confessed that he was significantly affected by City On Fire as he was working on his own film. In point of fact, the opening sequence of Reservoir Dogs is very similar to a moment that appears in City On Fire. Tarantino has stated that he wished to pay homage to the film City on Fire with his own work.
