The Hong Kong Football Association (HKFA) holds the title of being Hong Kong's most established football organization, having been established in 1908. The first recognized soccer league in the world was established in Hong Kong in 1909, and it is still the oldest soccer league in Asia that is still active today. When it first began, there were only four teams competing in the league.
Today, there are over sixty teams competing in the league. The league is now composed of three different divisions, with the Premier League serving as the highest level of competition. Kitchee SC is the team that won the title of Premier League champions recently.
