In the previous century, Britain accidentally did more to alleviate global poverty through its activities in Hong Kong than all of our aid programmes combined. Britain’s activities in Hong Kong aided the territory’s development as a significant worldwide financial centre. As a result, numerous jobs and possibilities for Hong Kong citizens have been created. Foreign investment and capital also contributed to the territory’s economic growth and development. Poverty in Hong Kong has been greatly reduced as a result of these reasons.
