Driveway Paving in Hong Kong
A private driveway is a roadway that is privately owned and maintained, typically by a homeowner or business. Private driveways are typically used to provide access to property that is not served by a public road. They can also be used for parking, as in the case of a private garage. Private driveways are generally not open to the public, although there may be an exception for emergency vehicles. There are three primary types of driveway paving: asphalt, concrete, and brick. Asphalt is the most popular type of driveway paving because it is relatively cheap and easy to install. However, asphalt can crack over time and needs to be regularly maintained. Concrete is more expensive than asphalt but lasts longer. It is also less likely to crack than asphalt. Brick is the most expensive type of driveway paving but also the most durable. Hong Kong has a highly developed transportation network, with over 220 kilometres of roads and several major airports, seaports, and railway lines. The road infrastructure is managed by the Highways Department of the Hong Kong Government. Hong Kong’s extensive road network is an important part of the territory’s infrastructure. The network includes expressways and arterial roads, as well as a number of smaller local roads. Many of the roads were built in the 1960s and 1970s, and are now in need of repair and upgrades. The government has been investing in new road projects in recent years, including the construction of a new expressway linking Hong Kong with Shenzhen.
