Bruce Lee's Iconic Jumpsuit Sells for $101K

40 years after his death, Bruce Lee's famous yellow jumpsuit, designed and worn by Lee in the 1978 film Game of Death, was sold for $101,400 USD in Hong Kong. Shannon Lee, Lee's daughter, sold the jumpsuit through Julien's Auctions. Lee's widow, Linda Lee Cadwell, purchased the jumpsuit at a Christie's auction in 2003 for $19,000 USD.

Bruce Lee was a martial artist, actor, and director who is widely regarded as the greatest martial artist of all time. He was born in San Francisco in 1940 to Chinese parents. Lee began martial arts training at a young age and went on to establish his own martial arts school, Jun Fan Gung Fu, in Seattle in 1959.

He finally relocated to Hong Kong to pursue a film career.Lee's martial arts abilities and on-screen personality helped him become a tremendously popular actor in Hong Kong, and he went on to star in a series of hit films such as The Big Boss (1971), Fist of Fury (1972), and Enter the Dragon (1973). His unexpected death at the age of 32 from cerebral edoema induced by a painkiller reaction put an end to his bright career.

Despite his brief career, Bruce Lee made an indelible mark. His films continue to be successful, and his martial arts system, Jeet Kune Do, has impacted generations of martial artists. Game of Death's yellow jumpsuit has become an iconic symbol of Lee's enduring appeal.
