Andy Lau, Anita Yuen, and Lam Ching-ying starred in the Hong Kong action comedy picture Future Cops (1993), which was directed by Wong Jing and produced in Hong Kong. The action of the movie takes place in the year 2043, when two detectives from the future travel to the year 1996 in order to prevent a criminal lord from seizing control of the entire planet.
The movie is an adaptation of the video game series Street Fighter, and it stars a number of characters from the Street Fighter franchise, such as Ryu, Ken, and Chun-Li. At the Hong Kong box office, the film Future Cops grossed more than HK$30 million, making it a commercially successful release.
