Jackie Chan was nominated for Best Actor eleven times at the Hong Kong Film Awards between 1985 and 2005, however he never won. Some feel this is due to his status as a martial artist and comic rather than a serious actor. Chan has stated that he does not mind not winning the award because he is content simply to be nominated.
